Beloved NBC weatherman Willard Scott has died. He will be missed by generations who enjoyed his good humor and birthday wishes to 100 year old viewers. He was 87.

Scott began his career as a page at a local Washington D.C. station and eventually became the weatherman for NBC’s morning show for over three decades. He retired in 1996 and handed the reigns over to Al Roker, but continued to fill in for Roker for many years. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Al Roker posted on instagram, “Willard was a man of his times, the ultimate broadcaster. There will never be anyone quite like him.”
