The Full Moon Concert Series for Summer ’21 comes to a close with The Fab 5, Friday, October 22nd at Festival Park in the heart of Downtown Nacogdoches.
According to their bio, The Fab 5 is a Beatles tribute band from the Houston area with Members, Rod Robert, Chuck Essick, Joe Baiardi, Danny Kristensen, and Paul Byron Woodall, who have been playing together for several years.
The Full Moon Concert Series is the brainchild of the Nacogdoches CVB Director of Sales, Joanna Temple.
“Last Fall, I developed the outdoor movie events as a safe way for people to have fun during Covid. While out at the airport, hosting one of our movies, I looked up in the sky to see the most gorgeous full moon. I was transported back to 1977, Jeppesen Stadium, Houston, Texas where I attended my second live concert. It happened to be the Eagles, who had recently released their album, Hotel California. I think I knew every word to every song. The album cover had a full moon on it. At that moment, I had an epiphany. We could put on outdoor concerts, I could bring in tribute bands, and I could kick it off with the Eagles. Ha! I wish, but a wonderful connection was made when I was sharing my idea with friends. It just so happened one of those friends was dating a member of the band, Already Gone.”
The band was just what Temple was looking for and she went on to say, “As fate would have it, Already Gone was a top Eagles’ tribute band out of Houston.” Already Gone took the stage on May 29th and The Spicolis, an 80’s cover band, lit up Festival Park on July 24th.
For The Fab 5, on October 22nd, the Gates will open at 6:30pm, and the show will start at 8pm. Several food trucks will be available, along with a full bar. If the last performances are any indication, Festival Park will be rocking, once again. The space can accommodate up to 1000 people with plenty of room for lawn chairs, blankets, and dancing shoes.
