October in Nacogdoches means pine cones are falling, halloween costumes are being planned, hunters are getting stands up, corn out, and the kid’s eyes are fixed on the Nacogdoches Exposition Center, each time Mom drives by, to see if they can spot the first signs of the big wheel going up.
The Pineywoods Fair is an East Texas’ tradition. Nacogdoches County 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA members have been working on their projects in anticipation of this event. Early mornings have been spent feeding their pig, chickens, goat, lamb, calf, or rabbit. Other students have been working on ag mechanics projects, floral displays, art pieces, photography or craft Items to enter into the Fair as well. I love the photography exhibit!
Delicious foods, we think about the entire rest of the year, also return. Be sure and bring your appetite for candy apples, funnel cakes, carmel apples, cotton candy, and more.
Evans United Shows is bringing back the thrills with The Freakout, which is like a giant tire swing that swings back and forth and twirls around, as well as, fan favorites Genesis, Fireball, Tilt-A-Whirl, Century Wheel, Scooters, Flying Bobs, Super Slide, and Spider.
You can purchase your Pinewoods Fair tickets online at WWW.NACEXPO.NET. Admission is $5 per person, and there is no charge for parking.
